The National Lifeguard Pool certification is designed to develop the fundamental values, judgement, knowledge, skills, and fitness required by lifeguards. The National Lifeguard course emphasizes the lifeguarding skills, principles, and practices, and the decision-making processes which will assist the lifeguard to provide effecive safety supervision in swimming pool environments. This is the final step to becoming a certified lifeguard.
Pre-requisites: must show proof of completion of:
• standard first aid/CPR-C, standard first aid or aquatic emergency care (emergency first aid and occupational first aid level 1 are not equivalent, occupational first aid levels 2/3 are) • bronze cross • 16 years old by the last day of the course
